Alex co-founded the nonprofit media organization Worldchanging, where he gets to flex his intellectual editor, public speaker, and futurist muscles. His core interest is to examine the future of cities and how to make those cities deliver prosperity, vitality, and joy to its citizens while dramatically reducing ecological impact. He has challenged Seattle to become completely carbon- neutral by the year 2030. Seattle: the Columbia City neighborhood, Full Tilt ice cream, Andaluz restaurant, light rail.
